Die Blechtrommel, meaning The Tin Drum, is a German film directed by Volker Schlöndorff and adapted from the novel by the same name by Günter Grass. A film is about the development of young boy named Oskar Matzarath. The film won the Golden Palme at Cannes in 1979 and the Oscar for best foreign picture in 1980.
