Allen is a successful New York film director who has made a significant contribution to the black comedy genre. Allen's work includes numerous productions and he shoots a film almost every year. With “Match Point”, Allen moved the location of his films to Europe (London and Barcelona) and returned to the USA in 2009 for “Whatever Works”. Allen has been nominated over 20 times for an Oscar.
