Riefenstahl was the innovator of the documentary film genre. Due to her involvement in the crimes of the Nazi regime, she was banned from making further films after 1945, but she was able to complete another film that in no way came close to her formal innovations in films such as “Triumph of the Will” or “Olympia”. She denied any knowledge of the Nazi crimes.
