Donya, a young Afghan woman, had to flee to the USA after the Taliban came to power because she had worked as a translator for the US army. She now lives in Fremont, California, and works in a fortune cookie factory. But her experiences and her concern for the family she left behind lead her to isolate herself and deny herself any happiness.
