Reading Rainbow is the children’s television series that aired on PBS and encouraged children to read by showing how fun it could be. The shows host Levar Burton also starred in the popular Star Trek television series at the same time. Every episode a children’s book would be read as they showed the illustrations and at the end of each episode they would recommend other books to read.
