For horticulturist Earl, his job was always the most important thing, his family was secondary. In his late 80s, he is divorced, his daughter no longer speaks to him, only his granddaughter still stands by him. When he has to declare bankruptcy and is out on the street, he starts working for a Mexican cartel as a drug mule, successfully despite his stubbornness. But the DEA gets onto him.
